Abstract
The concept of mythistory is developed in the period of the New Historiography, and it is closely related to the changing concept of history. Mythistory takes mythology as a narrative origin of history, and thus the fundamental confrontation between mythology and history is dissolved. In the research on the origins of civilization, the mythistorical pattern aims to explore how myths enter history, and to investigate the shaping function of myths in the formation of civilization. Advocators of this pattern generally agree that the mythology as metahistory is the narrative dynamic mechanism behind the emergence of history.
