Abstract
ImmanuelKant argues that thejudgment of taste should have universal validity. Whilethis proposition is closely related to language, littlehas been donefrom the perspective of language analysis. Thejudgment of taste demands everyone’s agreement, whichinvolves apriority and necessity. In both aspectsof this proposition, however, there is tension, as is indicated through language analysis. Therefore,in the judgment of taste we cannot demand consensusinbothaspects. Compared with the method of language analysis, the method of transcendental aestheticsneeds further reflection.
