Abstract
This interview with Professor Gerald Prince conducted by Professor Qiao Guoqiang centers on such contested topics and difficult issues in recent years as narrative, implied author, narrativity, narrativehood, etc. Other issues discussed in the interview include general trends in narratological studies in the United Statate and the modified or 'hyphenated' narratologies such as structuralist narratology, postclassical narratology, postmodern narratology, socionarratology and psychonarratology.
