Abstract
Jointly sponsored by the Institute of Aesthetics of Capital Normal University, the editorial board of Theoretical Studies in Literature and Art, the College of Art of Inner Mongolia University and Anhui Education Publishing House, the Summit Forum on "Western Aesthetics in the Perspective of the East" was held in Hohhot during August 3-5, 2011. Over 30 specialists and scholars in the academic circles of aesthetics in China and Japan explored in depth the issues such as the relationship between Eastern and Western aesthetics, the history of the relationship,the possibility of eastern aesthetics, ethnic art and aesthetics in the perspective of the East, and different views on aesthetics between China and Japan.
